Katy Perry's divisive new MKR-meets-NSFW music video is an online hit while the single it belongs to continues to fail.
The Bon Appetit video follows the song's double-entendre lyrics about being on the menu and spread like a buffet in a very visual manner - Perry being cooked and servedup.
On Twitter the video has been slammed for catering to the "cannibal demographic."
Perry has stated the video is her statement on "sexual liberation" and posted the clip with the note "hot and ready to serve but make no mistake I'm not your piece of meat".

However some viewers have called the clip "90-per-cent porn, 9-per-cent food, one-per-cent song".
The video had 14 million views on You Tube in 24 hours, the most-viewed clip since Adele's Hello.
It is now close to 25 million views and comes with a 'not safe for work' warning 20 seconds in.
There is no warning, however, for Perry's countless pre-teen and teen fans. The video starts with Perry, in flesh-coloured swim wear, being surrounded by chefs sharpening their knives.

They soon cover her in flour and knead her body, using prosthetics to make her limbs stretch like pasta dough.
After being covered in vegetables Perry is dropped into a large vat of boiling water and starts self-basting.
In a scene which may alarm some viewers her tongue is burned with a torch used to make crème brulee before she is wheeled into a nightclub covered in food.
Bizarrely as people can treat her as a human plate a pole rises out of the table she is lying on, Perry swings on the pole while the diners are blindfolded and a woman has her shirt ripped open.
Comments on the video range from those who are confused and annoyed to those who see it as a statement on the objectification of the female body.
The US singer will be hoping reaction to the video will increase sales for Bon Appetit, which are struggling to match her usual figures.

Bon Appetit debuted at No. 35 in Australia last week on 4,358 sales, this week it dropped to No. 46 on 3573 sales.
The song dropped from No. 40 to No. 43 in the UK and only entered the US chart at No. 76; her previous single Chained to the Rhythm debuted at No. 4 in the US.
