Katy Perry scores first ever global Cosmo cover

Singer Katy Perry has landed Cosmopolitan magazine's first-ever global cover.

The singer will feature on the front of all 62 issues of the magazine around the world in the July edition.

"Katy's music and attitude have universal appeal to young women everywhere," editor in chief Joanna Coles said in a statement.

"She crosses all cultural boundaries.

"Her music is soulful and empowering in equal measure.

"She's the first Cosmo global icon."

The thrilled singer took to social media to boast about her new icon role.
