Kate Hudson reveals 'laziest' thing she's ever done

For the October issue of Cosmopolitan, Kate Hudson answered a questionnaire about, well ... her, and most of her answers are pretty casual - relatable, even down to earth.

Then you arrive at said question, "The laziest thing I've ever done." A pretty simple query right?

Hudson's answer has caused a few raised eyebrows. The Hollywood A-lister confessed her laziest act to be, "Have a C-section."

Ah, yep. That's what she said, reports news.com.au.

Valerie Williams, a writer for Scary Mommy and a working mother from New York took to the site to express her disapproval of the actor's answer.

She wrote openly to Hudson and asked, "where the hell did that come from?"

The mother of two goes on to explain her own C-sections, "While numb from the chest down, motionless on an operating table, hearing my own blood being suctioned from the fresh hole cut into my stomach, I thought to myself - this is so f***ing lazy."

Williams goes on to describe her own experience, when her husband almost immediately returned to work and left her with a toddler and infant to care for.

She said it proved so rigorous her gaping wound literally refused to heal. She said, "I thought - I'm so god damn lazy." Note the sarcasm.

There is an endless list of the many lazy things we could all confess to being guilty of; Succumbing to another episode on Netflix instead of finishing work, sleeping in on the weekend or staying in our pyjamas all day, but having a baby? Mmmm, I don't know.

If you're unfamiliar with the technicalities of the procedure, let me break it down for you ...
An incision is made through a woman's abdomen and then her uterus while she is usually fully awake but numb from the waist down while the baby is delivered.

It doesn't really sound like it's on par with a PJ day.

While the article insinuates Hudson probably meant it jokingly it has continued to spark a debate between mums on Scary Mommy's Facebook page.

One mum who said her C-section was, "one of the hardest things," she's ever done. "And yes I read it. I know it was probably meant as a joke. It wasn't funny."

Despite the fact that this may just be a joke (and it very well could be) it appears mothers who have had a C-section are not all on the same page as Hudson's sense of humour.
