Kardashian freak out sparks calls for a boycott

Following a US news anchor's on-air rant where he refused to talk about the reality TV family, people around the world are gearing up for a Kardashian-free week.

US celebrity blogger Perez Hilton put out the call today on Twitter.

To my fellow media: Can we take a Kardashian break? At least for a week? No Kardashian coverage this coming Mon-Fri? Will anyone join me???

"To my fellow media: Can we take a Kardashian break? At least for a week? No Kardashian coverage this coming Mon-Fri? Will anyone join me???" he tweeted to his six million followers.

"This also includes all boyfriend/husbands/exes!" continued Hilton. "The Jenners are included. Obviously!"

Thus the #NoKardashiansForAWeek was born.

The news of the Kardashian boycott was welcomed by many on social media.
