The 911 call that ended up sending Kanye West to hospital handcuffed to a stretcher has been released, revealing the operator called the situation a "psychiatric emergency".
Celebrity news website TMZ reports that paramedics showed up to the home of West's trainer, Harley Pasternak, around 1:20pm local time.
West's physicianDr Michael Frazam reportedly called emergency responders, saying West was behaving "erratically".
TMZ reports that West was put on a "5150" psychiatric hold, which allows qualified officials to restrain someone who is feared to be a danger to themselves or others.
West reportedly was not keen to ride in the ambulance so was handcuffed to a stretcher under the 5150 order and taken to UCLA Medical Centre for a psychiatric examination.

Farzam told police that West had attempted to assault a staff member at the gym.
West's wife, Kim Kardashian, flew to New York City early on Monday to attend the Angel Ball, but bailed when West required medical attention.
Her sisters, Khloe and Kourtney, were in attendance, but Kim was nowhere to be seen on the night.
Friend John Legend said he was worried about West's behaviour.
"We were with Kim actually, you know, right before all of that," he told CBS' This Morning.

"I was concerned by what I saw, so hopefully he's getting some rest and some time to figure things out."
People magazine reported sources close to the star as saying that West is suffering from a "spiritual crisis".
"He feels like he's under spiritual attack, and has been for a while," the source told People.
"Sometimes, darkness creeps in, and Kanye wrestles against it. He talks about that a lot. It's exhausting, and it takes everything he's got. He's just so tired now; he's very low energy and feels like there's a grieving in his spirit. It's very hard to explain, but something has happened recently, where he's not the [Kanye] that everyone knows," the source added.
It comes after West launched an epic tirade onstage in Sacramento, prompting the rest of his Saint Pablo tour to be cancelled.
West ranted about Jay-Z and Beyonce and walked offstage after just a few songs, one which he played twice.
