When you boil it down, TV is little more than an endless procession of people saying things.

Most of the people who said things on our TVs this year were Americans, or British, or Trudy from the Australian Embassy in Bangkok. Most of what they said was easily forgotten.

But some of the people who said things on TV this year were New Zealanders. And a small handful of the things they said were, for one reason or another, memorable.
