Justin Bieber reportedly spat at a nightclub DJ.

The unnamed man claims the 19-year-old music star assaulted him in the VIP area at The Social Room bar and lounge in Columbus, Ohio.

The DJ phoned the Dave and Jimmy show on local radio station WNCI to recount the alleged incident.

He claims two members from Bieber's security detail approached him, grabbed his phone and started looking through the device for photographs.

Biber then allegedly approached and verbally abused him before spitting in his face.

"He called my mum something, called my dad something, called me something ... and spat in my face," the DJ recalled.

No official representative from Bieber's camp has commented on the matter.

Bieber has been accused of spitting in faces before.

In May, he was investigated for reckless driving after neighbours complained he was driving at high speed through his Calabasas gated community.

A resident who called the police claimed Bieber spat at his face and yelled abuse.
