Fellow Kiwi actor Thomasin McKenzie commented her congratulations on Dennison’s post, as did The Black Phone star Mason Thames.
The 23-year-old spoke to the Herald about his engagement in December, confirming the couple were actively planning for their upcoming ceremony.
“We’ve been engaged for about six months, which has been great. We have a date set, and we’re letting family know and sending out invites.
“It’s very exciting, like with any wedding with your friends or family or cousins, to celebrate love.”
Dennison received comments on his engagement announcement post from several former co-stars, including Nico Parker and Minnie Driver.
He has acted alongside Ryan Reynolds in Deadpool 2 and Millie Bobby Brown in Godzilla vs. Kong over his 13-year career, and more recently starred in the A24 film Y2K and the live action remake of How to Train Your Dragon.
The Upper Hutt-bred actor also made his DJ debut at Gisborne’s Rhythm and Vines in recent weeks, having picked up the hobby after a friend’s suggestion.
“I kind of fell in love with it more and played a few gigs here and there.
“Maybe that’s the story of every DJ, whether they started with music production, started playing with their friends or found it through curiosity.”
His next acting project is Just Picture It, a romantic comedy with a science fiction twist that will see him reunite with Brown in a supporting role.
