Confirmed as back in business at Comic Con this summer, The Hateful Eight will be shot in 65mm film with the widest 70mm release in more than two decades, according to Empire.
Harvey and Bob Weinstein will executive produce in collaboration with Tarantino yet again. Past partnership films include Reservoir Dogs and Django Unchained).
"This picture will be as innovative, brush and of course fun as all Quentin projects prior," the Weinsteins said in a statement. "There is, quite simply, no other filmmaker like him, and we are as proud as ever to continue the partnership that started over twenty years ago."
No cast members have been announced for The Hateful Eight but Samuel L Jackson, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Madsen, Walton Goggins, Bruce Dern and Tim Roth are among those rumoured to be in talks.
The film will follow a bounty hunter and his female prisoner caught in a Wyoming blizzard in the aftermath of the Civil War. Holed up in a shelter until the storm passes, "coincidences stop looking like coincidences, enemies become allies, secrets escape and lots of living things get dead."
Characters within The Hateful Eight are: Major Marquis Warren (The Bounty Hunter); John Ruth (The Hangman); Daisy Domergue (The Prisoner); Chris Mannix (The Sheriff); Bob (The Mexican); Oswaldo Mobray (The Little Man); Joe Gage (The Cow Puncher); and General Sandy Smithers (The Confederate).
