Jeremy Irons: 'Batman v Superman deserved bad reviews'

Jeremy Irons has admitted that Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice deserved all those bad reviews.

"Deservedly so," the 67-year-old star said about the negative response from critics.
"I mean it took £800 million ($A1.6 billion), so the kicking didn't matter but it was sort of overstuffed..."

(According to Box Office Mojo, the film has only made $A1.2 billion).

Irons played Alfred the butler in the film and he will reprise the role in next year's The Justice League Part One.

"It was very muddled," Irons said to the Daily Mail about the Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice plot.

"I think the next one will be simpler. The script is certainly a lot smaller, it's more linear."

Not that he's too worried about the script.

"I'm tied into The Batman at the minute," Irons said, "which is nice because it's a bit of income..."

"Not that I need a bit of income but it's nice to keep ticking over."
