Jenny-May Clarkson thought it might take months or even years to conceive but an early morning pregnancy test confirmed this wouldn't be the case.
Just weeks after starting to try for a baby, and just weeks before her wedding to her partner Dean, the TV One sports presenter discovered shewas pregnant, she reveals to Woman's Weekly.
At 5am following a sleepless night the 41-year-old former Silver Fern tried another pregnancy test, expecting to again see a negative result.
"I washed my hands and as I was drying them, I turned around and saw the second line forming the cross. I looked at it and then I sat down for a little bit ... still looking at it."
She rushed to tell her then-fiancé, who cried with happiness at the news.
A scan a week later revealed another surprise - she was carrying twins.
Unable to tell more than a few of their inner-circle before their wedding due to waiting for the 12-week mark to pass, the couple nevertheless managed to sneak in a veiled reference to their growing family in their vows.
"Thank you for giving me the family I've always wanted," Clarkson said on their special day. "That was my undercover nod to it all."
It's the second set of the twins for the One News Sports team after Andrew Saville and his wife welcomed twins three years ago.
Coffin has been filling in for Saville as he covers the Rugby World Cup for One News, with viewers reportedly spotting Coffin's growing baby bump.
