Opinion by

The tabloids have had her repeatedly sashaying down the aisle since she got engaged to Justin Theroux last year, and now rumours are rife yet again that Jennifer Aniston's nuptials are imminent.

Imminent, I tell you.

Chatter that Aniston is preparing to say "I do" for the second time re-surfaced late last month, courteously of People magazine.

According to the mag, the erstwhile Friends star, 44, and her fiancé, 41, are putting the finishing touches to their wedding plans, and have ticked off some of the biggies on their to-do list: Rings? Done. A date? Circled with a heart in the diary, love. Heck, she's even narrowed down her choice of dress for the ceremony, by all accounts.

"It will be a small affair with their closest friends," a "source" close to the actress dished to People, which also speculated that Aniston's vow-swap is likely to take place "soon" - as soon as she wrapped filming her current movie project in Connecticut on March 8.

So, going by that "intel" at least, we should all be on veil-watch.

The mag also claimed that Aniston is ready to become Mrs. Theroux.

"She plans on privately changing her name to Theroux," shared an insider. "She likes the way it sounds and jokes that [Jennifer Theroux] sounds very posh."

The source added: "They both have the same work ethic and love to bounce ideas off each other. Jen seems more confident than ever, and they've become a great team."

Reports have also suggested that Aniston and her betrothed have been sniffing around the idea of getting hitched in an exotic location.

Per The Sun, the couple has looked into holding the shindig in Hawaii.

"Jen is going to great lengths to keep the wedding details a secret so it does not become a huge media circus like her wedding to Brad [Pitt]," said a source. "Just a few dozen of their closest family and friends will be there. But news is beginning to leak that the date is just a few weeks away now.

"Jen would have liked to have done it at home in Los Angeles but it looks like that would be too difficult to keep quiet. She doesn't want to get married with photographers buzzing around her head in helicopters."

Added the source: "Justin just adores Hawaii. It's his favourite place in the world and he has a little house on the island of Kauai. His cottage is too small to host the wedding and Jen thinks it has too many memories of his old flames anyway. But they both love the island and the idea of a laid back Hawaii wedding in the sunshine.

"They have looked at some expensive villas including one where they enjoyed a romantic holiday in 2011."

On Monday, gossip blogger Perez Hilton declared excitedly that he had "all the details" about the nuptials.

"The wedding will take place in Hawaii to avoid any crazy media hoopla that would be intensified if it was here in Los Angeles," he claimed. "Apparently the guest list is going to be super tight...Jennifer's dad will most likely be there, but her mother [Nancy] - she has been estranged with her for a long time - it is reported that she will not be going there."

Well, it turns out she'd have a wasted journey even if she does plan on letting bygones be bygones and high-tailing it to the lush locale. According to Aniston's rep, while not denying reports that a wedding is imminent, the star is not planning to tie the knot in Hawaii.

"It's all made up," the rep told the New York Post. "There are no plans for a wedding in Hawaii."

'A BITTER BUN-FIGHT...'

Over the weekend, The Sun, which obviously didn't get the memo from People about Aniston's purported March wedding, stirred that there's a potential war of veils on the cards.

According to the tab, Aniston's ex hubby Pitt has reportedly scored a 90-day wedding licence ahead of his marriage to Angelina Jolie. In a nutshell, the move, The Sun asserts, could lead to a clash with Aniston's wedding, and "a bitter bun-fight over celeb guests".

Shared a source: "Brad and Angelina left themselves short of time to sort out their wedding because of the licence deadline. A few months is nothing when you're planning a wedding - especially one as major as theirs.

"Everything points to them getting married in May just after the Cannes Film Festival ends, because they've got their hearts set on tying the knot in France."

The tab also touched on rumours that Aniston may attend Pitt and Jolie's wedding. I know, there's a Tui billboard if ever there was one.

"Jennifer will see it as an attempt to upstage her and there will be a battle over Hollywood guests," said a source.

"All that goodwill would go out the window if Brad's wedding date comes close to hers," they added. "Jennifer will see it as an attempt to upstage her and there will be a battle over Hollywood guests.

"She knows they will be judged on who had the better wedding by pulling in the biggest stars."

Aniston wedding rumour round-up:

According to Celebuzz, a Hawaii rendezvous for the wedding could be wide off the mark. The website speculates that the pair might get hitched in a little-known church in Pennsylvania.

Radar Online claims that Aniston's nuptials are "imminent", and that guests - including Aniston's mother Nancy - have been told to wait for a phone call that'll reveal all about the date and location.

"Indications are it's going to be a small, private affair with just a select few invited," a "source" told the webloid. "Those that are going have been told to expect a call at short notice, drop everything they are doing and head to the location when revealed."

If Gracia has its way, Aniston will trot down the aisle in Valentino on her big day.

"Apparently, Jennifer has been working with Valentino on a dress and has been heavily involved in the designing process, while Justin intends to wear an Armani tuxedo," a source told the website.

Aniston's BFF Chelsea Handler says she isn't in-the-know when it comes to the star's wedding.

"I don't know! I honestly don't know anything about it," Handler said in a recent interview with Katie Couric. "I don't. She doesn't consult me about her plans. I'm sure I'll find out about it when it's about to happen... for privacy issues."

Handler said last October that she won't be maid of honour at the wedding.

Aniston and Theroux have been engaged since last August. Her ex-husband Pitt popped the question to Jolie a few months earlier.

Stay tuned for updates.
