'It makes them look weak': Lindsay Lohan criticises Hollywood's #MeToo victims for speaking out

Lindsay Lohan has criticised Hollywood's #MeToo movement, saying victims are looking for "attention".

The actor turned MTV reality star, 32, also said she had never experienced sexual harassment in Hollywood. "I can't speak on something I didn't live, right?," the Mean Girls star said.

Lohan claimed going public with sexual assault actually discredited victims.

"If it happens at that moment, you discuss it at that moment," Lohan said in the interview with The Times.

"You make it a real thing by making it a police report."

"I'm going to really hate myself for saying this, but I think by women speaking against all these things, it makes them look weak when they are very strong women.

"You have these girls who come out, who don't even know who they are, who do it for the attention.

"That is taking away from the fact that it happened."

Lohan told The Times she was "very supportive of women" but "can't go along with the 'attention-seekers' or trial by social media".

Her comments were absolutely savaged on Twitter, where she was branded "appalling", "weak" and "self-loathing".

Lohan is now based in Mykonos, where she runs Lohan Beach Club and is filming her yet-to-be-titled reality show for MTV.

The series is being produced by Bunim/Murray — the same production house behind Keeping Up With the Kardashians.

Lindsay Lohan's #MeToo comments are naive, stupid and quite frankly dangerous. You don't support women and then say stuff like that. Not reporting something at the time doesn't then mean you have to ignore it forever.
