Monday night's annual Shortland Street cliffhanger is about to get all Game of Thrones style red wedding on us.
Photos of Harper with blood all over her wedding dress looking rather distressed have been doing the rounds, but we're yet to find out if Monday night's annual Shortland Street cliffhanger is about to get all Game of Thrones style red wedding on us, or if Harper has simply endedup doing some urgent surgery in her dress.
Ferndale has always been a risky place to hang about during the festive season - hit and runs, explosions, hostages, runaway cars, drink spikings, murderous intentions, romantic entanglements. And getting married on Shortland Street has always been a dodgy proposal too - the course of true love (or any other kind of love) never runs smooth on our favourite soap.
So combining the two will provide for plenty of dramatic action, and producer Simon Bennett is promising this 90-minute special will be full of romance, intrigue and tragedy on a grand scale - and to really up the ante, he's got operatic Sol3 Mio to make a cameo appearance, and sing the dramatic Santa Lucia.
Heading into the final episode, it seems the biggest question is whether Harper will get over her pre-wedding jitters and actually marry Boyd, or whether her flickering feelings for Drew, and self-doubts about her worthiness will have her call the whole thing off.
And Bella continues to try to convince herself to put her feelings for Boyd to bed, and let him and Harper live happily ever after.
Victoria continues to battle her feelings for Mo as well as her feelings of loneliness around Christmas, while Margaret tries to keep herself together, dealing with her first Christmas without Pixie, and trying to fob off Drew's suspicions about the suture ordering stuff-ups and her dodgy accounting.
And of course the Coopers are dealing with their own family mystery as Murray's father makes some confusing comments about someone called Ross from his past.
Virginia continues to force herself into Drew's life, despite his best efforts to end their relationship in a clear and civil manner - after she sees Millie delivering chocolates and a thank you hug to Drew, she gets riled up all over again.
And Leanne seems to be unusually stressed out about organising the kids' Christmas party, though with Vinnie's help it looks set to be a great success.
But the key to all the action might actually be the ever-creepy and threatening Gareth, who's been seen sneaking around the hospital taking pictures of security cameras and offices, effectively casing the joint, seemingly hell-bent on some sort of revenge against the people who've helped his daughter Millie get away from him.
The penultimate episode airs tonight, and then there's no episode on Friday in preparation for the big finale on Monday.
