And Schumer certainly didn't move slow when it came to meeting Hanisch in real life.
"The first time I'd met Ben I was tired, I'd done photoshoots all day and I was like "Can you just come over and have a drink?' My sister's like, 'You can't just have someone over to your apartment, Amy!' So we went to a restaurant.
"She keeps me alive: I have the mind of a teenager, and she's like 'You need to be safe.' I've put us in a lot of dangerous situations, it's a destructive instinct," she said.
Schumer and Hanisch may have met in a neutral space away from her home but they soon retired to a private setting: "He was there an hour later, so I don't know what we're worried about!"
The Trainwreck and Snatched star revealed what had initially attracted her to her handsome beau as she flicked through the "douchey" profiles on the app.
"The picture was him dancing with his grandma at a wedding, and it was really cute. There's so many douches on there - a lot of shirts off. The guys all have a mandatory shot in Europe where they're holding an old timey camera wearing a scarf. [Or] doing a cannonball off a yacht. A motorcycle pic. To let you know they're interesting and cultured."
