WATCH:
I'm not usually one for superhero capers but Captain Marvel is one story I am seriously on board with. Last month, I was given a sneak peek at the blockbuster ahead of interviewing Brie Larson (who is the greatest, seriously) and it left me genuinely excited to see more.Captain Marvel is the most powerful superhero to enter the Marvel Cinematic Universe and is a total badass. She also happens to be a woman. Personally, I was just stoked to see she wasn't wearing some ridiculous bustier and mini-skirt. Welcome to 2019 Marvel, it's a pleasure to have you here.

Now everyone's stopped losing their damn minds about Bradley Cooper and Lady Gaga, let's talk about the real standout moment from last week's Oscars: The winners of Best Short Documentary. The prize went to a group of female film-makers who made a doco about periods. As they themselves exclaimed on the night, "I can't believe a film about menstruation just won an Oscar". But it truly deserved to win. The half-hour feature, which is available to stream on Netflix, is an eye-opening look at women in India and how their place in society has been shaped by the biological reality of periods. Watch it. Talk about it. Normalise it.
