It's considered one of the best sci-fi films of all time. Now, the first trailer for the Blade Runner sequel looks like it could live up to its reputation.
The first teaser for Blade Runner 2049 has been released online, and while it doesn't give much away, it sets avery particular tone for what's to come.
While there are shots of the iconic futuristic cityscapes of Los Angeles, most of the trailer takes place in a grim, yellow-washed desert as K, played by Ryan Gosling, walks into a seemingly abandoned house.
"Things were simpler then," K replies, before cutting to a modified version of the classic Blade Runner logo.
While much of the plot is being kept under wraps, the few details we know reveal that K is a new Blade Runner who has to track down Deckard for help.
Ryan Gosling plays the new lead, K, in the upcoming sequel.
Arrival director Denis Villeneuve helms the movie, taking over from original director Ridley Scott, and co-stars Jared Leto, Dave Bautista and Robin Wright.
