Gordon Ramsay has urged Brooklyn Peltz Beckham to not forget where he came from.

The chef, restaurateur and TV personality praised Sir David Beckham and Lady Victoria Beckham for their qualities as parents, but also said he has been in contact with Peltz Beckham to offer the aspiring chef support.

Peltz Beckham has previously said he had suffered “overwhelming anxiety” all his life, which stopped after he ended contact with his family.

Ramsay, a long-standing friend of the Beckhams, has urged Peltz Beckham to remember where he came from and to be more aware of how much his parents have supported him.

In an interview with the Sun, Ramsay said: “Remember where you came from. Honestly, one day you won’t have your mum and dad. That penny will drop with him.”

Ramsay admitted he was in contact with Peltz Beckham, despite the eldest son of the Beckhams having blocked many people, including his family, on social media.

“We’ve messaged a little bit,” he said. “It is a very difficult situation. Love is blind – they say it for a reason. He’s desperate to forge his own way and stand on his own feet, and I respect that.”

Of Peltz Beckham’s parents, Ramsay added: “They’ve absolutely stood by him through thick and thin. It is only going to be a matter of time before Brooklyn takes a good look at himself and understands.”

The 59-year-old chef and his wife, Tana Ramsay, 51, have been close friends with the Beckhams for more than 20 years and Gordon Ramsay praised their parenting skills.

“Tana has seen first-hand how good they are as parents. David is an amazing dad. They are dear friends,” he said.

In a social media post in January, Peltz Beckham announced that he did not want to reconcile with his family, having accused his parents of prioritising “Brand Beckham” over all else and controlling narratives in the press.

In the posts, he claimed his mother had “hijacked” his first dance at his wedding with an “inappropriate” display that left him “uncomfortable and humiliated”.

When questioned over whether Lady Victoria Beckham backed on to her son during his wedding dance that was meant for his wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, 31, Ramsay said: “No, nothing of the sort.”

Tensions between the Beckhams, their son and his wife started in 2022 following the couple’s marriage, when controversy swirled over Peltz Beckham not wearing a Lady Beckham-designed wedding dress.

In his January post, Brooklyn Peltz Beckham also accused his parents of “trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped”.

He said: “I have been controlled by my parents for most of my life. I grew up with overwhelming anxiety. For the first time in my life, since stepping away from my family, that anxiety has disappeared.”

DJ Fat Tony told ITV’s This Morning that the singer Marc Anthony asked for “the most beautiful woman in the room” to come to the stage at the wedding.

Guests were said to have believed it was for Nicola Peltz Beckham’s first dance with Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, but instead Lady Victoria Beckham was then called to the stage and asked to dance with her son, prompting Peltz to leave the room in tears.

Anthony later told the Hollywood Reporter that claims around Peltz Beckham’s feud with his family were “hardly the truth”.

Anthony said: “I’m really close to the family. But I have nothing to say about what happened there. It’s extremely unfortunate how it’s playing out – but [how it’s playing out] is hardly the truth.”
