Michelle Obama is embarking on a trip to Africa to promote girls' education, and she teamed up with one of TV's most avid readers to help spread the word.
Alexis Bledel paid a visit to the White House as her Gilmore Girls character Rory Gilmore, a famed bookworm and woman who values education.

In a video posted to Facebook, Rory brings the First Lady some Pop-Tarts - a classic Gilmore Girls snack - and stacks of books to read during her flight. And Obama tells her all about the project, saying she can follow the journey on Snapchat.
The First Lady signed up to the social media platform just last week, using it to tease an upcoming appearance on James Corden's Carpool Karaoke.
Obama and her daughters Sasha and Malia will visit Liberia to meet with President Ellen Johnson Sirleaf and speak with local teenage girls, moderated by actress Freida Pinto.
They will then be joined by actress Meryl Streep to speak to the young women in Marrakech, Morocco, before moving on to discuss the Let Girls Learn initiative in Madrid.
The initiative launched last year to encourage developing nations to educate the more than 62 million girls worldwide who don't attend school.
As for Rory, a Gilmore Girls reboot is expected to appear on Netflix later this year.
