Few people here know more about Game of Thrones than News Corp Australia's GoT team.
Yet even investing hundreds of hours is no cast-iron guarantee when it comes to the world of Westeros.
So, for better or worse, here are their tips on how it will end. Warning: Spoilers.
BRONTECOY
With former hero Daenerys Taragaryen's rapid descent into madness in the penultimate episode, it seems fairly safe to say she's no longer the endgame when it comes to the Iron Throne.
But the idea of Jon Snow — who doesn't even want to rule — being scuttled in as the next best alternative would be pretty disappointing.
Sansa Stark may be manipulative, but she's proven to be a master strategist and strong leader with plenty of support, so we could see her wind up as Queen, with either Jon, Arya or Tyrion recruited as Hand.
There's obviously a slim chance Dany will survive the doomed character arc she's currently on and fulfil her "destiny" to rule — but sadly, no one's really hoping for that anymore.
Instead, I think Jon will be forced to kill his former lover.

DUNCAN LAY
Jon Snow has to finish his classic "hero's journey" and end up on the Iron Throne. Or, if the Iron Throne is a twisted pile of scrap metal, on some sort of throne.
Daenerys can't win it. Not after slaughtering so many innocent people in the last episode. To have her end up as the Mad Queen would be a mockery. You might as well have given it to the Night King.
However, that assumes Dany dies at the hands of a vengeful Arya Stark. If Jon is forced to kill Dany then he might just go a bit crazy himself, wander off past The Wall and leave Sansa or Tyrion to pick up the pieces. That would be a GoT-worthy twist but I can't see it happening, sadly. It's Jon for the win.
WENLEI MA
Not long ago, I boldly predicted Lyanna Mormont would be the next great ruler and warrior of Westeros, and we all saw how that ended. Oops.
There's every chance Game of Thrones' writers will dethrone mad woman Daenerys in favour of sensible man Jon Snow. If that happens without any complex twists, it'll be a betrayal of the show's female characters. Also, boring as hell.
So I'm hoping they'll surprise us. Maybe the Iron Throne will be melted down for scrap metal and no one will sit atop its cold seat. There's no chance democracy will penetrate the land, but maybe it could be ruled by a quorum of wise counsellors such as Davos, Tyrion, Sansa and Samwell.
Or maybe Dany will slay everyone and look out over her desolate and destroyed Seven Kingdoms, the bitterness and loneliness of power her only victory.

As someone who binge-watched seasons 1 to 7 in a month to avoid missing out on the excitement of the final series, I honestly still have no idea what the hell is going on — let alone a theory on the ending. But here goes.
Writers have obviously written Daenerys off after turning her into a psychopath, which leaves our beloved Jon Snow the obvious ruler of the Seven Kingdoms. But this is way too predictable and honestly very snooze.
There's big buzz that Sansa will take the throne, which would be a shocking ending. I can't recover from what a sook she was in the early days.
I'm all for Arya coming out on top but I think she's destined to die a courageous death. I'm crying already.
Outlandish and final prediction: The Night King is not actually dead and he's going to show up when we least expect it and kill everyone.
