A memorial plaque has been installed at the tomb of actor Matthew Perry two years after suffering a fatal drug overdose.
A photo posted to Instagram shows a bronze plaque mounted on the late actor’s crypt at Forrest Lawn in Hollywood with the inscription: “Matthew Langford Perry. August 19, 1969-October28, 2023″.
Then, in a nod to his most iconic role, the epitaph concludes with the words “Much Loved Friend”.
TMZ reported that Perry’s family opted to wait several years before installing the plaque because of privacy reasons.
The outlet also reported the actor’s crypt is in the restricted Sanctuary of Treasured Love section of the cemetery where other actors such as Carrie Fisher and Debbie Reynolds rest.
The Hollywood Graveyard Instagram post was captioned: “The crypt of Matthew Perry has been marked at Forest Lawn Hollywood — forever remembered in the hearts of friends and fans all over the world".
Perry played the role of Chandler Bing on the hit sitcom series Friends, which premiered in 1994.
He remained close with co-stars David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow after the show’s decade-long run.
He was found dead in his Los Angeles home in 2023 after a years-long battle with depression and addiction.

Plasencia was one of five people charged following a federal investigation into how the late actor was able to obtain the drug through an underground Hollywood ring, according to the BBC.
“No one alive and in touch with the world at all could have been unaware of Matthew’s struggles,” Perry’s mother Suzanne Morrison wrote in her victim impact statement.
“But this doctor conspired to break his most important vows, repeatedly, sneaked through the night to meet his victim in secret.”
“For what, a few thousand dollars?
“So he could feed on the vulnerability of our son.”
Perry’s Friends co-stars participated in a fundraiser last month to honour him on the second anniversary of his death.
Page Six reported that the actors each signed limited edition artworks by Tim Wakefield that were sold at auction to benefit the Matthew Perry Foundation.
