If you missed this year's MTV Video Music Awards you must have been living under a rock.

It was a night of excitement - from the opening number, where Nicki Minaj twerked and rolled her way around around the stage - to the finale where Beyonce, after her mega-mix performance, was presented with the MTV Video Vanguard Award by husband Jay Z and Blue Ivy, her adorable daughter.
