For the love of God, no! The movie no one asked for

First it was Valentine's Day, then New Year's Eve, and now director Garry Marshall is tackling a movie no one asked for: Mother's Day.

The movie is only in its early stages, but Deadline.com, who announced the movie, reports the plot will revolve around several intertwining stories of mothers as the Hallmark holiday approaches.

And already some big name stars have signed. Most notably is Julia Roberts, who previously starred in Valentine's Day and got her first big break when Marshall directed her in Pretty Woman. Other rom-com favourites Kate Hudson and Jennifer Aniston are currently in negotiations, alongside Saturday Night Live alumni Jason Sudeikis.

Valentine's Day was torn apart by critics, getting just 18 per cent on RottenTomatoes, but made over US$200 million at the box office. New Year's Eve did worse in both regards, with 7 per cent approval and a US$152 million return.

The script is being written by Lily Hollander and Anya Kochoff-Romano.
