THEATRE:
Ever since, well, the Bible, hair has featured in stories and art so we can all agree that there's more to it than dragging a comb through it first thing in the morning and heading out to face the world. Choreographer and performance artist Tallulah Holly-Massey, artist-in-residence at theBasement Theatre this year, has long been fascinated by the social and cultural meanings of hair and has made a dance work all about it. Using movements inspired by internet tropes and videos of mammals socialising, four dancers/actors explore hair as a marker of identity.
Head to The Lula Inn this Saturday for a spot of delicious day drinking. Lula's Bottomless Brunch, is back with it's second Big Bottomless celebration for 2018. They are clearing the tables to make way for a daytime dancefloor, as 'Candyland' takes over Lula's garden oasis. Starting from 11am - 1pm, two hours of bottomless mocktails, mimosas, prosecco and Bloody Mary'are available also some delectiable Bottomless Brunch Grazing Tables. Live music will be performed by Ijebu Pleasure Club, DJ Phoebe Falconer, DJ Hamish Crocker (SAX) and Surprise Entertainment. General admission tickets are 59.50 per person plus booking fees and VIP booths are $69.50 per person + booking fees (min 6, max 8 guests).

CONCERT:
In his native Macedonia, Simon Trpčeski is "almost a pop star" thanks to virtuoso piano playing which has seen him jet around the world and play with orchestras like the Royal Concertgebouw and the New York, Chicago, Boston, and Los Angeles Philharmonic Orchestras. Now, he's in New Zealand — with performances in Napier, Tauranga and Auckland still to come — playing, with the NZ Symphony Orchestra, one of the best-loved pieces of music ever written for piano, Edvard Grieg's Piano Concerto. The concerts also include two works by Russian composer Dmitri Shostakovich.
Stimmung Choir sing songs by the likes of Radiohead and Queens of the Stone Age; now it's back for two-nights only to introduce new New Zealand supergroup Neon Warwick and the Bethell Gang plus raise funds for choir founder Robin Kelly to take the show Valerie all the way to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival. The 30-strong choir will be joined by special guests Paul McLaney, Priya Sami, Paul Fagamalo and Valerie's Cherie Moore to sing choral music that's contemporary, bold and, occassionally, a little bit sweary. Make it a double bill and see the astounding cabaret show Valerie first.

The World Press Photo Exhibition is a collection of the world's best and most prestigious photos. This travelling exhibition, unique in its kind, is the result of a worldwide annual contest on press photography. It's available for viewing up until the 29 July at Smith & Caughey's Queen Street, Auckland CBD. Tickets are $15.00 Weekdays/ $20.00 Weekends with all proceeds going to Auckland charities. The weekend exhibitions open on Saturday from 10.00am - 7.00pm and Sunday from 10.00am - 6.00pm.
