First Ryan Reynolds' Selfless trailer released

Most men would die to have Ryan Reynolds' body, a fact which appears to be the central premise of the first trailer for sci-fi thriller Selfless.

The trailer features Ben Kingsley's character surveying a frozen Ryan Reynolds as potential destination for his mind to escape his ailing body.

Kingsley's character, dying of cancer, undergoes an experimental medical treatment where his consciousness is transferred into the body of someone younger, in this case, Reynolds.

It all appears to be going swimmingly, until the side-effects kick in and his host body starts to fight back.

* Selfless is set to hit New Zealand cinemas on August 6.
