KEY POINTS:
It seems that not even the Spice Girls are immune to the expositional power of the internet.
Part of the girls' new single Headlines (Friendship Never Ends) has been leaked on video community website YouTube, way ahead of its slated 5 November release.
The ballad, co-written by EmmaBunton and Geri Halliwell, is one of two new songs on their forthcoming Greatest Hits album.
It's been widely rumoured that US front man Bono has written the other song.
Meanwhile, an official statement on the Spice Girls' official website claims that the girl's new single is about to hit the airwaves today.
Is this a cleverly crafted publicity stunt, or a genuine case of digital theft? Judge for yourselves.
