'First lesbian makeover' on Queer Eye season three

The Fab Five of Netflix's hit reality series Queer Eye will utilise their skills to makeover a lesbian, branching out from their traditional remit of men lacking in style and direction.

Tan France, the group's fashion expert, shared the gossip while appearing on Netflix's web variety show Patriot Act with Hasan Minhaj.

The British style consultant said that the forthcoming third series of would be "everything that you would've liked about [Queer Eye] Season 1 and 2, but amplified" said France.

"Those heroes get me every week – it's the best experience. We have our first lesbian on the show this year and she's formidable. What we do with her, you're gonna love it."

The producers of Queer Eye are no strangers to mixing up their normal format to promote inclusivity and acceptance.

The first series The Fab Five have made over AJ, a 32-year-old civil engineer who came out as a gay man to his stepmother by the end of the episode. But by series two they were making over women, too.

Tammye, a woman who had recently received a cancer diagnosis, became the first such example. Also in series two the team met Skyler, a trans man who had just recovered from his top surgery.

The third series of Queer Eye is currently filming in Kansas City, Missouri and will air in 2019.
