Fifty Shades cut book's most talked-about scene

Leaving Fifty Shades of Grey's infamous tampon scene out of the film was a no brainer for producers.

The film's director, Sam Taylor-Johnson, has confirmed the scene in which Christian removes Anastasia's tampon before sex, didn't make the movie.

"It was never even discussed," she said.

Producers have been debating how much of the book's detailed sex scenes should be brought to the big screen.

Producer Michael De Luca said the tampon scene was unnecessary.

"The book needed to put you in Ana's shoes to be a successful experience," he told variety.

"The movie didn't need to do that. Its a completely different medium."

Yes, that's right. Jamie Dornan, who plays the mysterious billionaire in the upcoming adaptation of EL James' best-selling book, told Variety that he and Robert Pattinson have hung out.

"I've been around Rob long enough to see what it's been like for him," Dornan told the industry bible."I don't know if it's been a benefit to witness that. Whatever that is."

Although he added that Twilight and Fifty Shades of Grey aren't the same.

"Whatever my situation is, it's going to be different from Rob's. They are incomparable."

When asked what they chatted about when they last met, Dorner couldn't recall.

"I think we just got drunk."

Coincidentally, Pattinson is in a way responsible for Dornan landing the gig.

The Twilight actor's performance in the vampire franchise partly inspired James to write Fifty Shades of Grey, which went on to sell a reported 100 million copies around the globe.
