Fashion faux pas

When I first glanced at this photo, I thought Brendan Cole had arrived to the season eight launch of Britain's Strictly Come Dancing last week in fancy dress.

It was as if the theme was "bowel movements" and Brendan picked "turd". The brown slacks, brown loafers and brown silk shirt (one size too small) even drew giggles and guffaws from fans who snapped evidentiary proof on their camera phones at his flair for faeces-coloured fashion.

Cole will partner Destiny's Child singer Michelle Williams for the show, which airs next month. He's also plugging his concerts - Brendan Cole: Live and Unjudged - where he will perform alongside his brother Scott, who is described on the show's promotional material as "a dance pro who isn't afraid of offering some intimate insights into the real Brendan".

Let's hope there's no more sartorial insights, Brens.
