Davina and Nasser from Married at First Sight Australia, 2018.

Davina and Nasser from Married at First Sight Australia, 2018.

At the height of the drama during last night's explosive Married At First Sight finale, one of the best moments of the entire series came to life from the most unlikely of places.

After a strong start this season, we all went off Nasser Sultan as he slowly started to show what appeared to be his selfish true colours in his relationship with Gabrielle Bartlett.

But at the eleventh hour — in the most stunning of redemptions — Nasser won us all back with a truly sensational sledge.

Last night, the mob finally rounded on scandalmonger Davina Rankin over her affair with Dean Wells. Both the cheating spouses and their ex-partners — Tracey Jewel and Ryan Gallagher — were called up to the hot seat while everything was pulled out into the open.

After being confronted with actual footage of the cheating, Davina still refused to take any responsibility for her actions, complaining: "I'm confused. What did I do?"

It prompted Tracey to finally crack it, telling Davina that she had "no morals" and "no values".

Then out of nowhere, Nasser jumped in.

"You're old enough and smart enough to understand consequences. Darling, you have to grow up. It's not all hashtag, Davina, hashtag, coconut oil," he lectured her.

The group managed to put aside the irony of that comment — given that it came from a 50-year-old man who bailed on his girlfriend's home because he said her bed was "haunted" — and cracked up laughing.

And of course, #coconutoil immediately began trending on Twitter.

Davina herself had almost managed a redemption of sorts after giving castmate Sean Thomsen a brilliant nickname during the reunion dinner party the previous night.

While encouraging Dean to talk to Tracey, despite Sean's jealousy — she told him: "Ellen DeGeneres can wait."
