Fans give Lorde's new single tick of approval

Lorde's new single Magnets officially debuted on fellow Kiwi Zane Lowe's Beats 1 radio show today and fans have been quick to give it two thumbs up.

The track, which is a collaboration with English electro duo Disclosure, was leaked last week ahead of its official release.

In an interview with Lowe, the 18-year-old said she felt an instant chemistry with the pair, before giving a progress report on her own upcoming album.

Lorde has teamed up with Disclosure.

"The challenge for me as a songwriter is, 'How do I tell all these friends that I've made around the world how I'm feeling, while still making something they can listen to and relate to going to college and leaving home or whatever?'" she told Lowe.

But she didn't give away any details around a possible title or release date for the new record.

Fans quickly took to social media to share their delight at the new release with words like "masterpiece" and "perfect" repeatedly coming up.

Several fans said they were listening to the track on repeat.

The single will feature on Disclosure's upcoming album Caracal, which will be released tomorrow.
