The divorce of

Eva Longoria

and

Tony Parker

is turning into quite the soap opera. And if recent developments are anything to go by, it's not exactly amicable.

As I

reported previously

,

Desperate Housewives

siren Longoria filed for divorce last week, citing "irreconcilable differences".

Longoria and Parker reportedly mutually agreed to pull the plug on their marriage after the actress allegedly found hundreds of sexy text messages on her basketball star hubby's cellphone.

Blogger Bites Back: Eva Longoria and Tony Parker divorce

31 Jan 11:30 PM

Reports claimed Parker had been trading sexual texts with

Erin Barry

, the wife of his former San Antonio Spurs teammate

Brent Barry

.

Word at the water cooler said Parker had been totally blindsided by Longoria filing for divorce. Although they'd both agreed they would file, they hadn't discussed when the deed would be done.

Scorned by her hubby's alleged sexting, Longoria supposedly sought revenge and filed for divorce at a Los Angeles court - without consulting Parker.

"Eva was hurt and she wanted a little revenge," a source told RadarOnline. "So she blindsided Tony with the divorce filing.

"They were working out the details about who was going to file and when. They didn't want it to become a messy divorce. Then Eva got a little revenge and didn't tell Tony she was filing and dropped the papers on him, catching him off balance for the media blitz."

Parker later denied he'd been blindsided. He said: "Eva and I have been discussing our situation privately,"

Parker told

People

. "I was aware that she would be filing for divorce in Los Angeles."

"I did not file for divorce in Texas and did not hire divorce attorneys in either Texas or California," he said. "We plan to continue to keep our discussions of this matter private."

Well, once that wave of gossip had washed over us, Parker pulled a blinder - he filed his own divorce papers in Texas. Talk about complicating matters.

According to the petition, Parker states that "the marriage has become insupportable because of discord or conflict of personalities between Petitioner and Respondent," TMZ.com reports.

Sources

tell the website

that Longoria had no idea Parker was filing, and was "very upset" when she found out.

So they both filed divorce papers in different states. Curious, but perhaps a calculated move on Parker's behalf. Word is you can get divorced pretty sharpish in Texas - in as little as 60 days. Is he after a quickie?

TMZ claims the Texas filing was strategic. When Longoria filed her papers, her lawyer checked the box that reserved her right to collect spousal support - which is inconsistent with the couple's prenup.

Sniffing the potential for Longoria to challenge the prenup, Parker's lawyers "wanted to protect his client by filing in Texas, which several experts tell us could be beneficial to Tony in terms of enforcing the prenup," says the website.

'Longoria was no angel either...'

And while tongues are wagging about Parker's alleged sexting shenanigans, Team Parker is retaliating with some mud slinging.

Friends of Parker say Longoria is not exactly blameless either.

"Eva has been no angel, either," a friend of the couple

tells PopEater

.

"When they first got married, they both agreed to spend as much time with each other as possible. They knew it would be a challenge with them working in different states, but Eva's part-time taping schedule for

Desperate Housewives

and the resources they had meant it wouldn't be that hard."

The website says that as time went by, the couple would spend less and less time together, Parker in Texas and Longoria in Los Angeles.

"During the first year of marriage, Eva partially lived on a plane, visiting Tony the minute the director shouted 'cut' on the set of

Housewives

," the source said.

"Eva didn't care about the lavish Hollywood parties she was missing or the fantastic private events she was invited to.

"All Eva wanted to do was be with Tony and build a life together, but things started to change as she got more and more sucked into the glamorous Hollywood lifestyle.

"Tony understands how important Eva's career is to her and never wanted her to leave Los Angeles and settle with him in Texas," another friends adds. "But then she would tell him that important meetings came up in Hollywood - which meant she had to stay in L.A. - and then he would see pictures of her and her friends out at restaurants and clubs. That's when he knew he couldn't compete."

Sexting?

And the plot thickens. Parker has also been accused by British tabloid The Sun of sending a flurry of sexy text messages to a British model.

According to the newspaper, Parker allegedly sent 19-year-old Sophia Egeler a slew of saucy texts, including a semi-naked snap of himself, after an encounter at a London nightclub.

Egeler said: "From the minute he met me he was trying it on. I had no idea he was Eva Longoria's husband. He would not take no for an answer and was telling me how much he liked me."

She added: "I decided at 1am I wanted to leave but Parker followed me into the street. He begged me to come back to a house he claimed was his. I said no."

The newspaper claims that after getting her number from a pal, Parker allegedly sent her a number of texts and got on with the chase.

Parker's camp has vehemently denied the newspaper's claims, saying the report is "not true", and that the NBA star wasn't even in London when the texting supposedly took place.

Awkward...

And as is by magic, history comes back to haunt divorcing couple Parker and Longoria.

Hot on the heels of the divorce news, up pops this retro video featuring Longoria, Parker and Parker's alleged texting buddy, Erin Barry.

The video, an almost shot-for-shot re-creation of the Summer Nights scene from

Grease

, was recorded last year to promote Parker's team the San Antonia Spurs.

It features Longoria as Sandy, and Barry as Rizzo - who proceeds to kick Longoria's Sandy off a bench, as she drawls, "He sounds like a drag".

It probably seemed like such a good idea at the time. Now it's just a smidge awkward!
