He had a zombie burst from the floor to attack rapper TI. He unleashed a floor full of rats on screaming Fox presenter Stacey Dash. He asked Seth Rogen intimate questions about his sex life.
He also trashed his desk in front of Wiz Khalifa, who watched on in horroras he set about beating up an inexplicably naked and bound man.
And in front of Lauren Conrad he sawed his desk in half with a chainsaw before vomiting, sending the terrified reality star running from the studio set yelling, "Nope!".
Welcome to the mad, bad world of Eric Andre, a stand-up comedian and TV prankster who invites celebrity guests onto his mock talk show to scare the bejesus out of them.
Despite pulling some serious skewed pranks, Andre keeps getting big name celebrities to appear on The Eric Andre Show, which is into its fourth season on Comedy Central.
Jimmy Kimmel, Carmen Electra Wiz Khalifa, Chance the Rapper and Glee star Jack McBrayer have all agreed to appear on Andre's show, and probably ended up asking themselves, 'What the hell am I doing here?' just seconds after arriving on set.
Andre uses a sparse set, terrible live bands, occasional nudity, fellow comedian Hannibal Buress and a cast of bizarre extras to both parody talk shows, and to see how far he can push his guests - and it's riveting stuff.
"(They have) no idea, (of) what they are walking into. We get them (to sign) a release before (they go on). We've never had a guest pull a release," he said.
Andre said his inspirations included Jackass, Tim and Eric Awesome Show, Great Job! and watching "train wreck" talk shows like Jay Leno.
"It came from my love and appreciation of mock talk shows, and the disfunction. I wanted to take it further and just be the most inept, incompetent talk show host ever," he told Maron.
He said Conrad had the most extreme reaction after he drew a swastika on his forehead, but he always goes backstage and checks on his guests afterwards.
"She was screaming at us ... she didn't want us to air it," he said.
"TI walked out but he was just like, 'You know what? I've had enough. He was very polite, he was cool afterwards. He said, 'I have seen enough male nudity for one day'.
"He hit his limit ... it was a polite walkout."
Andre admitted he was worried he'd struggle to get celebrities to appear on this season, but it hasn't been a problem.
"We had Jack Black and Howie Mandel on this year and they both knew the show, and it didn't matter. We were like, 'How are we going to do it if they know the show ... let's just hit them with some of our hardest pranks ... we saved our hardest stuff for those guys," he said.
"Howie Mandel's a germophobe, so if it starts raining used dental floss on his head, he's going to have a reaction."
