The entire Peltz family left the room after Brooklyn Peltz Beckham’s “awkward” wedding dance with his mother.

DJ Fat Tony, whose real name is Tony Marnoch, claimed Nicola Peltz Beckham’s family followed her when she left in tears.

Brooklyn Peltz Beckham, 26, posted a series of Instagram stories on Monday (local time), claiming his mother “hijacked” his first dance at his wedding with an “inappropriate” display that left him “uncomfortable and humiliated”.

Speaking about the 2022 incident on Friday, Marnoch said: “Brooklyn is stuck there on stage, and they do this dance, and Marc Anthony says ‘put your hands on your mother’s hips’ and it was a Latin thing, and the whole situation was really awkward for everyone in the room.”

He told the Daily Mail: “Brooklyn left right after the dance. Nicola left the room and afterwards he went after her. Nicola’s family left, they went after their daughter.”

Marnoch, a long-time friend of the Beckhams, said Anthony, the singer, had called Peltz Beckham to the stage, with the guests then expecting “Nicola to go up and do the first dance”

Instead, Anthony called for “the most beautiful woman in the room” to join the groom, saying Lady Victoria Beckham’s name instead of the bride’s.

He then instructed the groom to “place your hands on your mother’s hips”.

Marnoch revealed that Peltz Beckham “looked devastated”, adding that the bride fled the room of 500 guests “crying her eyes out”.

He claimed that “there was no slutdropping [a provocative dance], there was no black cat PVC catsuits, there was no Spice Girl action”.

“I’ve done an awful lot of Beckham parties in the past, and they are a very dancing, close-knit family and love to dance, right? So you know, what we deem as ‘inappropriate’ is not how Brooklyn feels.

“This is all about how Brooklyn feels. If he feels that it was inappropriate and awkward, it was inappropriate and awkward.”

Marnoch defended Lady Victoria Beckham, saying she had been “thrown into that situation” by Anthony.

He added: “I think too much has been read into it ... in the sense of too many stories being added to it. The dance is a very small part of the bigger problem.”

The DJ explained that Peltz Beckham wanted to “change the narrative” by releasing his own statement, saying: “It got to the point for him where he can’t take this anymore and wanted to step back from it, and that was his way of doing closure.

“That’s his decision. I couldn’t think of anything worse [for his parents], and I can only talk as a dog dad, but I didn’t talk to my own father for 30 years due to my own understanding of a situation that I made up in my own head.”

Asked about what guests were saying the morning after the wedding, he admitted: “Well, you know, when the bride and groom leave their wedding devastated, word trickles out ... and not many people turned up for the brunch, but everyone was talking about it, and how sad that part of it was.”

Peltz Beckham said the dance had been “planned weeks in advance to a romantic love song” with his new wife, but that “my Mum was waiting to dance with me instead”.

“She danced very inappropriately on me in front of everyone. I’ve never felt more uncomfortable or humiliated in my entire life,” he said.

He also claimed that his mother had taken issue with his seating arrangements, saying she called him “evil” for putting their grandmothers on the top table, and that she had cancelled making Peltz’s wedding dress “at the eleventh hour”.

The couple, who married in 2022, renewed their wedding vows to “create new memories of our wedding day that bring us joy and happiness, not anxiety and embarrassment”.

Anthony has not publicly addressed the incident.

According to the Official Charts Company, the fashion designer and former Spice Girl’s solo song, Not Such An Innocent Girl, has become the best-selling and most downloaded song of the week, a quarter of a century after it was first released.

The sales charts are based on sales of downloads, CDs, vinyl and other formats, across a seven-day period, and the singles chart reflects the UK’s biggest songs of the week, based on audio and video streams, downloads, CDs and vinyl.
