A Hollywood scriptwriting veteran whose credits include The Empire Strikes Back and Raiders of the Lost Ark has signed up to pen a new Star Wars movie.
Lawrence Kasdan has closed a deal to write an installment in the new Star Wars trilogy set to be produced by Disney,
href="http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/heat-vision/star-wars-lawrence-kasdan-simon-393459" target="_blank">sources told The Hollywood Reporter.
He wrote The Empire Strikes Back, which is still widely considered the best Star Wars film, as well as the original trilogy's concluding chapter Return of the Jedi.
His credits also include writing the screenplay for the acclaimed first Indiana Jones film Raiders of the Lost Ark.
Sherlock Holmes scriptwriter Simon Kinberg will co-write the film with Kasdan.
