Ellie Goulding has gushed about her new fiancé Caspar Jopling in a heartwarming Instagram post.

The pop singer, 31, posted a loved up black-and-white snap to her social media, with Ellie lovingly kissing her beau, 26, on the cheek.

Ellie described Casper as "the most wonderful person" and said she can't wait to be his "giggly and loved up wife".

In the emotional snap, Ellie - in a crisp white shirt and blue jeans - snuggled up to her Team GB rower love, who donned a classic blazer and circular spectacles, the Daily Mail reports.

In her gushing caption, Ellie wrote: "I tend to keep my life very private these days and I have enjoyed the time I've had away from all the madness.

"But we've had so many beautiful messages of support and love the past few days, as have our families, that we wanted to say thank you so much! We appreciate it more than you could ever know."

Speaking of her soon-to-be-husband, Ellie continued: "You're the most wonderful person I've ever known, and I can't wait to be your very giggly, in awe and loved up wife."

On the same day, the songwriter light heartedly poked fun at the her fans as she shared the question many followers were actually wanting to know about.

In a text post shared to her Instagram stories, Ellie wrote: "Me - 'Getting married guys'. My fans - 'That's nice but where's the music'. LOL fair enough". Earlier this week, Ellie thanked her fans for their congratulatory messages following the news of her engagement to Caspar on Tuesday.

The Under The Sheets hit maker took to Twitter on Wednesday to post a message, the day after her big news was announced in The Times.

Ellie simply wrote: "Thank you so much for all your lovely messages x" after sharing an Instagram video of herself playing the guitar.

There's no sign of Ellie's engagement ring in the new social media clip, but the newly engaged star looks relaxed and happy as she goes make-up free for a jamming session.

Ellie and Caspar's engagement announcement in The Times read:

"The engagement is announced between Caspar, son of The Hon Nicholas Jopling of Yorkshire and Mrs Jayne Warde-Aldam of Yorkshire, and Elena, daughter of Mr Arthur Goulding of Hertfordshire and Mrs Tracey Sumner of West Midlands."

A source told The Sun: "The couple wanted to tell friends and family first and people won't notice because her name is Elena.

"She's over the moon and has never felt so happy."

Ellie, 31, and Team GB rower Caspar, 26, live together and split their time between New York and London. She has made no secret of her joy in finding love with Caspar.

They were last pictured shopping together in New York on July 16 and there was no ring on Ellie's finger on the day.

Back in April, Ellie described Caspar as "very special" and admitted that her taking a break from touring had helped their romance flourish.

She told The Observer: "I thought for a long time that I could never really take the time to nurture a relationship because I'm never around. I haven't been touring for the past year, so I think this is the first time I've realised what it's like to be in a relationship and learn to be with someone.

"It also helps when you find someone who is very special and understands your job.

"The time that I spend somewhere is always so fleeting and I'm never in one place for long. That can stir up emotions, you're constantly re-evaluating and changing your life plans."

She previously said although Caspar makes her "very happy" she needs some "darkness" in her life in order to create new music.

Speaking to the London Evening Standard last month, she said: "I am very happy but I do realise you need some darkness to draw on to create the best music.

"But don't worry — I've got plenty of darkness to draw on! There is enough going on in the world at the moment to get anyone down."

The pair first sparked rumours that they were dating in April last year, when they reportedly put on an amorous display at a karaoke night in Mayfair.

An onlooker told The Sun at the time: "Ellie had brought Caspar along as her date. They were very coupley and touchy-feely."

However, Ellie at the time was apparently keeping it casual with the rower, who was educated at exclusive boarding school Eton College.

An insider said: "Things with Caspar are very casual but they have hooked up a few times and seem to like each other."

The Starry Eyed singer was previously thought to be in a relationship with Bobby Rich - a Judo champion who later became David and Victoria Beckham's bodyguard.

Before that, Ellie enjoyed an on-off two-year relationship with McFly star Dougie Poynter - but the pair split in 2016, citing their globe-trotting schedules as the cause.

Ellie has previously dated Skrillex, Greg James, Jeremy Irvine, Prince Harry and she is rumoured to have dated Niall Horan and Ed Sheeran.

Speaking to Glamour magazine in 2015 about whether she wants to get married, she said: "God, yes! I'm nearly 30. I once had a pretty warped view of marriage because so many people around me had divorced parents.

"So for a long time I did think that I'd never get married and that men were s**t - all that stuff.

"But when someone comes along and re-establishes that trust, then it's nice to think of doing everything the traditional way: having a church wedding, with all my family in one place - I love the idea of that."

Ellie previously admitted she is "annoyingly traditional" and wants a big white church wedding after toasting the last of her single days on a raucous Ibiza hen do.

Speaking to Cosmopolitan magazine in 2015, she said: "I'm all about making women do things that blokes should do, but there's part of me that is sort of annoyingly traditional.

"You know, my life is so weird that I do want some normal things, and things that I grew up thinking were normal, like getting married in a white dress in a church, and having an after-party.

"And a hen do – all my best friends in Ibiza or something!"

The Love Me Like You Do hitmaker is currently working on her fourth studio album in the UK capital with producer Jax Jones and he will also be travelling to The Big Apple to continue the sessions.
