The Game has previously been linked to reality TV star Khloe Kardashian but in April he was involved in a dramatic standoff with police in Hollywood.
The rapper, his close buddy T.I. and their entourages were surrounded by the LAPD following a huge fight which broke out after some of their friends were denied entrance to the nightclub Supperclub and one unnamed pal hit a bouncer.
According to TMZ, this led to a vicious fight as security then jumped in and viciously beat up two members of the posse. Although the LAPD were not involved in the beating, they were present with T.I. and The Game mistakenly blaming them for the incident leading to an intense standoff.
Video shot by TMZ showed the rappers and their friends shouting abuse at the police as the two groups face each other.
Meanwhile, speaking to Event magazine earlier this year, Ed was open about his drug use but declined to get specific.
He said: "There have been a couple of times over the past few years, but it's not a regular thing. It happens when I'm under an immense amount of stress and pressure, and things just build up. But it's not as dark as people make out. It's educational."
And he has insisted that he is in no danger of getting addicted, telling the Daily Mail newspaper: "I've never gone for anything addictive.
"If anything ever got out of control, I'd just switch it off, like I did with drinking.
"I've got no deep-seated emotional turmoil, so there's nothing really to go off the rails about."
Ed - who has most famously been linked to Ellie Goulding and hinted she cheated on him - has been dating Athina Andrelos for almost a year and admits he prefers being in a relationship because he is "no good" at casual sex.
He said: "I'm not good at it, because I'm rubbish at chatting women up. I really am.
"I'm a lot better in a relationship, which is rewarding, not just a 10-second feeling... in my case."
