A song that salutes big-bottomed women was aired too early in the day for the Broadcasting Standards Authority's liking and a radio station has been chided.
The BSA upheld a complaint that radio station Humm FM 106.2 breached standards of good taste and decency when it aired Nicki Minaj's Anacondahit at 3.30pm one Friday.
The song included such lyrics as "oh my gosh, look at her butt" and "this one is for my b*tches with a fat ass in the f**king club."
A listener who complained told the authority the song was "completely inappropriate" for broadcast during the day and had "vulgar and overtly sexualised" language.
Karen Scott-Howman, the authority's chief executive, said the broadcasting watchdog agreed with the complainant.
"We do not think that regular listeners would expect to hear this type of language broadcast in English at this time of day, on this radio station," she said.
"The content of this song would have been unexpected and offensive for many regular listeners of Humm FM which targets a general audience," Ms Scott-Howman added.
The BSA said although there were no classified time-bands on radio as with free-to-air television, radio stations "should be mindful of children's normally accepted listening times, for example before and after school."
The BSA said it did not penalise Humm FM because this was the first complaint against the station and Humm had acknowledged the breach and permanently removed Anaconda from its playlist.
The music video for Anaconda featured abundant twerking and had notched up at least 392,364,244 views on YouTube, where it was uploaded in August.
