Ariel and her friends might be getting their own live-action treatment.
We've had Cinderella, Beauty and the Beast is on its way, and now, The Little Mermaid looks set to be next in a successful run of live-action Disney films.
Executives at Disney are currently mulling over the idea of bringing the singing red-headed mermaid to life, and discussions have takenplace with major producers already, reports Deadline.
UK production company Working Title is already working on a live-action version of The Little Mermaid, with Chloe Grace Moretz looking set to star.
But Disney already has Ariel's 1989 animated feature to draw from, with its now-classic songs like Under The Sea and Part of Your World.
And there's clearly an appetite for Disney's live-action undertakings, as its live-action Beauty And The Beast just broke the record for most-watched teaser trailer with almost 92 million views in its first 24 hours.
Besides, Disney's on a live-action roll; it's just released Alice Through the Looking Glass and has Beauty And The Beast and Pete's Dragon on the way.
Also in the pipelines, it's got Cruella starrng Emma Stone, A Wrinkle In Time starring Ava DuVernay, Jungle Cruise starring Dwayne Johnson, Dumbo directed by Tim Burton, Maleficent 2 starring Angelina Jolie, The Nutcracker And The Four Realms directed by Lasse Hallstrom, The Jungle Book 2 directed by Jon Favreau, a Tinker Bell project starring Reese Witherspoon and a sequel to Mary Poppins starring Emily Blunt.
