Hollywood elite have celebrated the best of film and television at the annual Critics Choice Awards today, as the glitzy and glamorous awards season gets underway.
Joaquin Phoenix is an early winner for Best Actor for Joker, while Eddie Murphy has given a tear-jerking speech as he was honoured with the Lifetime Achievement Award.
This is a solid precursor for the Academy Awards next month.
Best Director was a tie between Sam Mendes for war thriller 1917, as well as a surprise win for Parasite's Bong Joon Ho, who beat heavyweights Quentin Tarantino and Martin Scorsese.
But Tarantino was victorious with the top honour, winning Best Picture for Once Upon a Time in Hollywood.
On the TV side of things, On the TV side of things, HBO's Succession won Best Drama Series.
