The Critics' Choice Awards have added Star Wars: The Force Awakens as an 11th best-picture nominee.
After announcing their nominees last week, the group's board of directors reconvened to add JJ Abrams' acclaimed Star Wars sequel to their best picture category. Its members hadn't been able to see The Force
Awakens before sending in their ballots.
Many awards groups, like the Hollywood Foreign Press' Golden Globes, announced their honours before seeing The Force Awakens. One exception was the American Film Institute, which selected The Force Awakens as one of its 10 best of the year after delaying its announcement in order to see it first.
The Critics' Choice Awards will be broadcast from Los Angeles on January 17.
Mad Max: Fury Road leads with 13 nods, including best picture.
