Covid-19: Sky TV rejigs lineup, adds more kids shows to help parents

Sky TV has rejigged their lineup to offer more children's shows, to help out parents at home with their kids.

"We have changed the line-up on Prime, our free-to-air channel, to include even more family-friendly content during the day, acknowledging the fact children are now at home from school," said a spokesperson from the network.

"We've focused on shows which we know kids will love and parents will approve of, including local shows Tiki Tour and The Moe Show, plus favourites like Danger Mouse and MasterChef Junior USA."

They've also curated a "Best of HBO" catalogue so that all customers with at least the Sky Starter package will be able to binge on series like Watchmen, Succession, McMillion$, His Dark Materials, The Outsider and Chernobyl.

For those in lockdown who want to keep up with news from across the ditch, Sky News Australia will now be available to customers with at least Sky Starter for three months.

Despite having to close their doors, Academy Cinemas has also found a workaround for their customers.

Tomorrow they will launch Academy On Demand, an online streaming service of their best independent, foreign and classic titles.

"Starting from Friday, fans of Academy Cinemas will be able to rent a quality new release or classic title for seven days," confirmed a spokesperson.

"We have a small but wonderful selection of films available now from a couple of our great distribution partners and we're working hard to get other distributors on board quickly to be able to bring you even more films and regular new releases."
