Cookie Monster says he has found some of the world's best cookies during a visit Down Under - but he's not a fan of brown yeast spreads like Vegemite.
The iconic Sesame Street character, who is in Australia with his buddy Elmo for Elmo's World Tour, is usually found stuffinghis face with "classic" chocolate chip cookies.
But Cookie Monster told nzherald.co.nz he had discovered Tim Tams - an Australian brand in which two biscuits are sealed together with chocolate and come in a range of flavours - since arriving in Oz, and he was loving them.
"We've been exploring a little bit, taking in the sights and sounds ... and cookies," Cookie Monster said on the phone from Melbourne.
"Me have a big pile of Tim Tams right here. The white ones and the originals. They're delicious ... Me like Tim Tams."
Cookie Monster, who admitted in 2010 that he didn't just eat cookies after claims he was promoting obesity, said he was starting to enjoy vegetables.
"Me not only eat cookies. Me like vegetables, fruits, carrots are yummy. Me like the crunch."
Elmo, who has visited New Zealand before but won't be making the trip over for his current tour, said the only thing that made him sad was when his friends got sick.
"When they're sick Elmo tries to make them happy. I play games to make them feel better. I'm happiest when everybody is happy.
Both admitted they were big Flight of the Conchords fans, and were game for a bungy jump if they ever came to New Zealand together.
