"When you saw Bill (Posley) voted out, that decision happened so quickly. Like dominos, they all fell in line. It was like, wow, this guy has some power here.
"When you know you can get one step closer to the million just by saying yes to Colton's plan, it's so much easier than getting seven or eight guys on your side."
Cumbie was more evil than infamous Survivor villain Russell Hantz, Otsuji claimed.
"In the second or third episode I literally said on camera, 'This guy is going to make Russell Hantz look like a little school girl.'
"And he did, he went down as the greatest villain ever."
Otsuji said Cumbie had no master plan but orchestrated eliminations based on whims.
"After seeing Bill and Monica (Culpepper) go, I realised Colton wasn't voting based on any type of strategy or alliances. It was more, 'Who's irritating me the most today, I'm going to get rid of them.'
"Because he had so much power - he had relationships on both the girls and the guys side, and he had the idol - it was just way easier at that point to go along with his plan and make him do all the dirty work and put the target on his back."
If he could play Survivor again, Otsuji said he would make more of an effort to "diversify my alliances".
"I definitely wouldn't be Colton's bitch. I would have tried a lot harder to have run the show and make some big moves."
