Christian Slater has revealed that his father once tried to kill him and his mum as he hits back against the $20 million lawsuit brought against him by his dad.
The Mr Robot star has filed documents to have Thomas Knight Slater's $20 million defamation lawsuit against the actor andhis mother, casting agent Mary Jo Slater, thrown out of court.
TMZ reports that Slater says his father is a manic depressive schizophrenic who was taken to hospital in 1972 in a straitjacket because he threatened to kill his wife and a then three-year-old Christian.

The documents also allege that Thomas Slater also pushed his wife into traffic when she was expecting Christian.
Thomas Slater says his ex wife and son have poisoned Hollywood against him to the point where he needs to line up in free food lines. He once starred in the soap opera Ryan's Hope and had small roles in movies like The Amityville Horror and Mommie Dearest but has not worked since 1988.
"Christian sat on my knee as a child and watched me do these soap operas and learned from me how show business works and he hasn't given me one damn bit of credit - and he treats me like this - he's an ungrateful b*****d," he said.
