"We married our bug collection like a strange natural history version of the Brady Bunch," he said.
"We've got bugs everywhere in our house."
Pratt said his favourite is a giant bird-eating tarantula positioned in a diorama so it is hanging up laundry, which was a gift from Faris.
The highly-anticipated fourth instalment of the Jurassic Park film franchise crushed the foreign box office on its first day, raking in US$24.5 million (NZ$34.9 million) at theatres in China, France and six smaller territories.
The Zero Dark Thirty actor, who is known to bulk up and balloon out for roles, says gaining weight for a part is "the best."
"You just get to eat and drink your face off for work... you can feel your life slipping away," he said.

He said Faris, the mother of his two-year-old son Jack, likes her husband chubby.
"She's all about the fatty," he said.
"She loves to cook food and we both just sort of dream of a day that we get to retire and have BBQs everyday."
