It's been reported today that newly single Hollywood actor Channing Tatum has a new girlfriend — British pop singer Jessie J.

The news was exclusively revealed by US Weekly , a reputable source when it comes to celebrity births, deaths and marriages (ie — this ain't no New Idea 'Brad and Jen together again!' BS, people).

The outlet reports that Tatum, 38, and J, 30, have been dating for a "couple of months" and that the actor had been spotted at Jessie's October 6 concert in Seattle. They were spotted at a mini golf course together in that same city — and other low-key appearances popped up on social media around the same time:

"It's new, casual and they're having fun together," US Weekly quotes a source as saying.

News of the surprising pairing had many celeb-watchers pointing out that sometime Australian Voice coach Jessie bears more than a passing similarity to Tatum's ex-wife, actress and dancer Jenna Dewan:

It's unclear how long Tatum and Price Tag singer Jessie J have known each other — but US Weekly pointed out that their connection dates back to at least 2014, when they appeared on stage together at the MTV Movie Awards as Jessie and Mark Wahlberg presented Tatum with an award:

Here's just a sample of the online reaction to news of their pairing today:

It's been six months since Tatum and Dewan announced their decision to separate after almost nine years of marriage.

"We have lovingly chosen to separate as a couple. We fell deeply in love so many years ago and have had a magical journey together," the couple said in a joint statement.

"Absolutely nothing has changed about how much we love one another, but love is a beautiful adventure that is taking us on different paths for now. There are no secrets nor salacious events at the root of our decision — just two best friends realising it's time to take some space and help each other live the most joyous, fulfilled lives as possible.

"We are still a family and will always be loving dedicated parents to (daughter) Everly. We won't be commenting beyond this, and we thank you all in advance for respecting our family's privacy."

After their split, Dewan told Women's Health she'd been trying to adjust to a "new normal".

"It's OK for a relationship to change into a new form that is actually better for both people involved, and I think that's maybe what shocked everyone so much — that it can be a positive thing," she insisted. "That was ultimately what happened with us."

The New York Post reported that the pair split "due to spending more time apart because of the pressure of work".

"Channing has been working non-stop, with four movies announced for 2018 alone. It is hard on a marriage to be apart so much, especially when you have a young child. Plus Jenna is in pre-production for the movie, Berlin I Love You."

The friend added, "Both Channing and Jenna are devoted to their daughter and have worked hard to spend as much happy family time together, despite the problems in their relationship that the distance has seemed to magnify."
