Executives at US TV network ABC are refusing to air an ad for Cate Blanchett and Rooney Mara's new movie Carol, because it features the women in bed together.
The actresses play lovers in the new film, which features a nude sex scene, and, according to the New York Post, bosses at the network have asked movie bosses to "provide more coverage" to Mara and Blanchett before agreeing to air the promo.
A source told the publication, bosses at The Weinstein Company are "making adjustments to fit network TV execs' requests," in a bid to get the advertisement air time before the Academy Awards on February 28.
Blanchett is up for Best Actress for her role in the film, while Mara is among the Best Supporting Actress nominees.
