Brooklyn Beckham reportedly ‘disheartened’ by his parents’ ‘performative’ birthday posts

Brooklyn Beckham was reportedly “disheartened” his estranged parents, Sir David and Victoria Beckham, ignored his no-contact requests by posting birthday wishes on social media.

While the aspiring hot sauce entrepreneur was celebrating his 27th birthday with wife Nicola Peltz Beckham, both David and Victoria shared childhood photos of their oldest son to mark the occasion.

“Happy Birthday Bust,” David wrote alongside a white heart, “We love you x”.

But a source told Entertainment Tonight Brooklyn was not impressed by his family’s public declarations of love.

“Brooklyn and Nicola are disheartened they chose to make public Instagram posts for his birthday,” they said.

“These are the exact type of performative public actions that Brooklyn has been trying to put an end to, to no avail.

“Last summer they issued a legal letter to his parents requesting that any correspondence go through lawyers.”

Brooklyn’s younger siblings, Romeo and Cruz, also posted throwback photos as tributes to their brother that have gone unacknowledged.

The ongoing rift between the members of the famous family came to a head in January, when Brooklyn shared a lengthy statement detailing the events surrounding his 2022 wedding to Nicola.

“My parents have been trying endlessly to ruin my relationship since before my wedding, and it hasn’t stopped”, he wrote.

“My wife has been consistently disrespected by my family, no matter how hard we’ve tried to come together as one. My mum has repeatedly invited women from my past into our lives in ways that were clearly intended to make us both uncomfortable.”

Addressing his bitter falling out with the rest of the Beckham clan, the former photographer said his anxiety has “disappeared” since he stepped away from the family.

“For my entire life, my parents have controlled narratives in the press about our family. The performative social media posts, family events and inauthentic relationships have been a fixture of the life I was born into.”

He expressed his intentions not to reconcile with his parents, who he said had reportedly gone against his wishes by sharing stories with the media.

“I wake up every morning grateful for the life I chose, and have found peace and relief. My wife and I do not want a life shaped by image, press, or manipulation. All we want peace, privacy and happiness for us and our future family.”

Brooklyn has seemed to grow closer to wife Nicola and her family as he has disentangled himself from the other Beckhams.

In her own post for his birthday, the American actress gushed over her husband of four years.

“Happy birthday baby ... I hope all your dreams and wishes come true! you light up every room you walk into and anyone who knows you loves you ... you’re the most special human and I love being your wife. I love you I love you I love you.”
