SPOILERS FOR MARRIED AT FIRST SIGHT AUSTRALIA
Brook Crompton’s jilted groom Chris Nield has broken his silence on her rekindled relationship with her ex after it wasannounced she was expecting a baby.
After leaving the experiment two weeks in, Crompton reunited with her ex-partner Harry and quickly fell pregnant, becoming engaged on Christmas last year.
Nield told the Daily Mail in November he just didn’t “think she was in the right place for a new relationship to form”, and said there were “no ill wishes” between the two.
“Obviously finding out during the show that she’d slept with her ex two days before we actually got married ... looking at it now, I’m just feeling like if she was doing that, she wasn’t ready.”

Nield said he and Crompton had actually got along well by the third day of their honeymoon, despite appearances, and he had thought they were one of the strongest matches before her early departure.
He understood why she had returned to her ex despite their “connection based on similarities and personality”.
“She was going back to something familiar because she was worried about this new experience.”
He has no contact with his former TV wife out of respect for her new engagement.
“It’d be strange to let that relationship or friendship be there.”
The couple had tension on the show after Crompton was shown her onscreen husband’s audition tapes where he expressed his distaste for fat people.

“We were both very particular people. And I think the environment just got to us multiple times,” he said, remarking that his own personality didn’t suit the nature of the experience.
“If one of us felt s***, the other one would jump on board and feel s*** as well. So like she obviously left the first weekend ... little things, but everything just compiled and made her sort of just wanna get outta there and go back home.”
However, other cast members had speculated the Queensland model had been flying home to spend time with her ex during production of the show.
Her partner Harry told Woman’s Day the relationship with Nield was “just acting”, claiming Crompton “hasn’t spoken about him or anything like that”.
